Michaelidis et al. (2005)

Oxygen consumption rates (% of control rate), an indicator of metabolism, were examined in adult mussels (Mytilus galloprovincialis) exposed to either normal (8.05) or reduced (7.3) pH for a period of 20 hours. Reduced pH conditions were obtained by injecting gaseous CO2 into seawater, while temperatures were maintained at 18°C and salinity at 32‰.

Michaelidis et al. (2005)

Oxygen consumption rates (% of control rate), an indicator of metabolism, were examined in juvenile mussels (Mytilus galloprovincialis) exposed to either normal (8.05) or reduced (7.3) pH for a period of 90 days. Reduced pH conditions were obtained by injecting gaseous CO2 into seawater, while temperatures were maintained at 18°C and salinity at 32‰.
